Inspiration

November 30, 2011

If I survive, I will spend my whole life at the oven door seeing that no one is denied bread and, so as to give a lesson of charity, especially those who did not bring flour.

Jose Marti

How our world would be so wonderful if we all lived by these words. It’s difficult to be that “good” – something that I’m still striving for, and may never reach.

Thinking about the poor Springfield MA families that lost so much from the crazy tornado tonight. I’m so lucky to be safe tonight.

My Husband

May 31, 2011

My husband helps and supports me, even when I can’t make a decision about a silly new vehicle!!!

When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.

Spend Your Life

May 1, 2011

The truth is that you can spend your life any way you want, but you can spend it only once.

Rejoice!

January 17, 2011

A complete stranger posted this to one of my facebook friends. My friend was complaining about FB (as I like to do once in awhile as well)

whatever the day brings…. “this is the day the LORD has made, rejoice and be glad in it!” He’s got your back.

How true. Her comment puts it all into perspective. Don’t sweat the small stuff, just be glad there IS small stuff to complain about!!!!

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” -Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I need to be more patient, generous, respectful, and less opinionated of others.

Praying for My Aunt Mary

January 4, 2011

My Aunt Mary…she’s had a very difficult life.

In her lifetime, she’s lost two husbands, three sons; she’s in the hospital with a bad case of shingles and she just broke her hip, so they are operating on her today. She’s been in so much pain, emotionally and physically. How much can one person take?

I love you Aunt Mary!

Courage

December 12, 2010

Courage is not the towering oak that sees storms come and go; it is the fragile blossom that opens in the snow.

Refrains of Nature

November 3, 2010

There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature — the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter. – “The Sense of Wonder”

Beauty of Nature

October 26, 2010

Cancer

Silence

October 10, 2010

True silence is the rest of the mind, and is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment.

Warm breeze

September 25, 2010

These warm beautiful afternoons will be disappearing soon. I am grateful to experience them now!

Brrr It’s Cold

September 9, 2010

Brrr, it’s getting chilly, but I have a big pot of chicken tomato sauce on the stove! It’s loaded with fresh tomatoes, green beans, kale, and summer squash. Warm foods are something I’m looking forward to, as autumn and winter approach.

Bread

September 4, 2010

There is nothing like fresh baked bread! I made whole wheat sunflower rosemary bread tonight. Yum. Had a couple of small slices with some soft butter!

Negative

August 13, 2010

So thank God the biopsy came back negative so why do I feel so blue?

I am not sure why. I don’t want cancer. I don’t want to go through what my mom is going through now. So why as the day moves forward, I’m becoming more sad!?

Today

August 13, 2010

Today will hopefully be the day. Test results will be in and I’ll know.

On the early show this AM the band Train is on. Of course Donna cane into my mind. I always think of her when I hear train. I’ll never forget her.

Emotional

August 9, 2010

Today I am more emotional and more nervous about what’s coming next. Will I have cancer? I can’t think about it! Stop thinking about it! Just take one day at a time, and move through it.

I pray for my mom and I pray for me. I hope we both get through this alright.

(tears are cleansing!) Thank you for a good day. One day at a time.
